I came over to Chelan to take care of family and went up to the Echo Ridge trail system to get another summit ride in before the winter gets started again this weekend. I parked at the bottom of Waterbar Heaven and climbed Bergman Gulch up to the Outback. I went counterclockwise around the Outback and summited Mallory’s trail. Video of the Mallory's descent is here and the rest of Outback after is here. Forest Service contractors have been clearing low level foliage for forest fire fuel mitigation all summer and the ‘damage’ or results can be seen as you go around. There is a lot of shredded debris to navigate over in spots but it is all rollable. I had to cut up a 8-10 inch tree with a hand saw across the north side of the Outback which took up my time but then off I went to descend down Waterbar Heaven. Both runs were fun but there is an 8 inch tree across Waterbar Heaven still about a quarter mile from the bottom. The dirt today was nicely damp with pine needles or cones on top. The Trailforks ride log with pictures is here.
