Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the nation’s largest statewide mountain bike association, representing thousands of riders through regional chapters. We are an important partner with public land managers, contributing over 29,000 hours of trail work per year.

Trails Program Director

Summary of Position

Evergreen’s Trails Program Director leads the strategy, planning, and execution of our statewide Trail Program. This role ensures the effective delivery of trail construction and maintenance projects across Washington through the leadership of Evergreen’s internal trail staff and collaboration with a wide range of external partners, including government agencies, landowners, consultants, community organizations, and volunteers.

Overseeing up to $3 million annually in trail projects and contracts, the Trails Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality results, coordinating the team, and driving the strategic growth of Evergreen’s trail development efforts. This position manages a team that includes three trail program managers, up to 10 crew leads, and approximately 25 year-round trail crew members across Washington State.

This is a senior leadership position that requires deep knowledge of trail design and construction, contract and grant management, and recreation infrastructure development. The ideal candidate brings a systems-thinking mindset and a passion for trail access, equity, and sustainability.
