2026 Dirty Dozen

This XC trail in the Liberty Lake area was recently completed by the Evergreen East Chapter, and is just as fun climbing as it is descending. It features a steady mix of twists and turns with smooth, well-shaped corners that keep the ride flowing. The layout strikes a nice balance between effort and reward, making it an enjoyable and playful experience in both directions.

In the Kettle Crest area near Republic WA, Sherman Peak Loop (West + East) is a 4 mile XC high alpine ride. Panoramic views and wildflowers. Recommended to ride clockwise. You can add an extra 2 miles out and back to Snow Peak Cabin if you want a bit more of a workout.

This brand new yet already legendary trail at Loup Loup starts out with beautiful views of neighboring mountains. It has chunky rock slabs and some rollable gap jumps with berms in between to keep your speed throughout the trail. There are three distinct sections, the rocky zone up top, the flowy Loup Loup Ski hillside, and the lower loamy section to the parking lot.

Ride the Telemark trail up to the summit of Bear Mountain, descend to the Oh, Bother trail all the way back to the ski lodge area for a unique high-country riding experience!

Sundance at Number 2 Canyon is a standout Wenatchee ride, pairing big, sweeping views of the Enchantments with smooth, intuitive flow. The trail shines for its ridgeline riding and delivers smooth, fast flow that feels perfectly in sync with the terrain. By following the natural contours of the ridge, it creates a ride that’s fluid, scenic, and deeply connected to the landscape.

Tucked near the top of Squilchuck State Park, just outside Wenatchee, amidst a bevy of flowy green and blue trails, Bent Femur immediately sets itself apart. True to its name, it’s quirky, technical, and anything but straightforward. The only black rated trail at Squilchuck packs many technical features: narrow wooden bridges (including skinnies), tight switchbacks, chunky rock gardens, and even a surprisingly smooth, highway quality stretch cutting through a scree field. It keeps you dancing on your pedals from start to finish. Direction matters, depending on what kind of ride you’re after. Go clockwise to tackle the rocky sections on the climb and enjoy the wooden features on the descent, or ride counterclockwise to flip that experience. Either way, Bent Femur delivers a fun, demanding ride that rewards focus and skill no matter how you approach it.

A Roslyn classic. Climb Ewok to Paul’s Trail, then east to Upper Beercan. The Beercan trails (upper, middle, lower) are fun and flowy with a few tech features included. After Upper Beercan, take a right on Middle Traverse to connect to Middle and Lower BeerCan. Or for a different experience, after Upper Beercan connect to Grotto and Slickrock.

A fast and rowdy trail that descends approximately 3000 vertical feet. The trail starts descending down a ridge through open meadows before diving back into the forest to finish off this great descent. The view from the top of Hamilton Butte is amazing, providing views of the Goat Rocks, Rainer, Adams, St. Helens, and Hood. This is a popular ORV area so watch out for motorized traffic. Located in the Lacamas Park system of trails outside Camas, Red Tape is a fun little action packed one way bike only trail. Jumps, twist, turns, and a little bit of tech, this trail has it all! Easy access makes this a fun trail for beginners and advanced riders alike. Easy climb back up to do multiple laps.

From the start, Suntop provides the most spectacular view of Mt. Rainier. A couple times a year we get to work on this trail and thanks to our super volunteers it gets logged out in the spring once the snow melts. It’s a true adventure trail through the dense forests of Greenwater. You can shuttle it or ride it as a loop with Skookum Flats.

Evergreen, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation and Friends of Cheasty Greenspace / Mt. View, built the first forested urban mountain bike trails in the City of Seattle. Trillium opened 10/25/2025 as part of the 2nd phase of the Cheasty Mountain Bike/Pedestrian Trail Pilot Project after more than 13 years of advocacy and hard work by Friends of Cheasty Greenspace/Mt View.

In Green Mountain State Forest west of Bremerton. Backcountry vibes all the way! Beautiful views of the Olympics and a technical, long descent. Best to pedal the logging road to the tip top with views of Seattle and then descend. This is a multi use trail, so monitor speed for hikers.

We’re stoked to highlight a trail from our friends at WMBC in this year’s Dirty Dozen. Double Down is a twisty and technical trail in the Chuckanut Mountain area south of Bellingham. It's a lot of fun for the adventurous rider seeking some excitement without an epic climb. There's plenty of gnar, a great bouncy rhythm and loads of cheap thrills along the way. A great use of natural terrain that blends technical moves, high speeds, and excellent routing. Easily accessible by shuttle or e-bike.
