Recent rains packed down the loose areas, but no mud anywhere.  A scattering of the first fall leaves (alder, early big leaf) make for fleeting thoughts of jack-o-lanterns and turkey supper in the not too distant future.  Only saw 5 bikes and about the same number of runners.  Get it while it's great!
