Today, Chelan finally had a night where the winds recycled the smoke in the valley and sent it east. In the early morning calm, I grabbed my gear and took off for a ride down the Butte before the valley filled up with haze again. To minimize the amount of ash inhaled during the climb, I set the Levo to Turbo and got up with minimal effort. The pictures in the ride log will show you the smoke already refilling the lake valley but the descent down the trail was still a blast. There are some places where the trail still needs a rake and the Winter Traverse double track needs a good grading or mowing to eliminate the overgrowth. My socks were covered in the brush and seed pods I was going through. The Trailforks Ride Log and pictures are here. The video of the hazy descent is here.
