Primitive to Mt. Stohr Overgrown Now

10 | Jul | '22

Started early at the Cherry Valley trailhead heading for the Falls and then North to summit Mt Stohr.

Since the full suspension is in the shop, this ride was a gravel ride. The bike trail to Cherry Falls is getting overgrown from the wet spring we had but it is still doable. I crossed Margaret Creek and then got a photo at the Falls and continued on the DNR road north past Lake Hannan to the Mt. Stohr access road. I climbed it until I was stymied by an overgrowth and I wasn't in the mood for a bushwack. I was about a mile from the summit and no real view of Baker would be available today now that plants were flourishing so well. The ride now was a shorter 'out and back'. I did take the gravel bike up to the top of Funner via Gully Bypass to test my skills on the roots and drops on the trail but Funner is funner (more fun) on a full suspension. Funner and Gully Bypass were hero today.

GPS track and pictures here.
