This is a really top notch route, don't miss it!

I hit the ridge near the summit just as a rain squall came over.  Swirling clouds mist and rain blasting upwards from both sides of the knife edge ridge as I rolled along in a completely whited out cloud bank...I now know exactly what it would be like to ride on the wing of a plane.  Sick downhill.  The whole loop is in pristine shape and scenery is 10/10.

Klahowya campground was very nice on the Sol Duc river $17…outstanding forest, 275' tall trees last logged in 1905.

The Fairholme campground just east of the trailhead on Olympic highway was only $12 with excellent amenities and great warm lake swimming off a dock below the campground near Fairholme store.

You can dry camp at the trailhead for $10 too.
