**The Closure of Rt. 18 by WSDOT for August 29/30 has been postponed**
This weekend (August 29/30) WSDOT will be closing Rt. 18 from I-90 to Issaquah/Hobart road. There will be NO PUBLIC ACCESS from 6am-3pm either day, which means riders and trail users will have no ability to drive to East Tiger Mountain during those times.

We knew Evergreen members were awesome—we just didn’t account for how awesome. Thanks to you, the fundraiser for our new excavator is going amazingly well. We’ve raised $18,000, plus an additional $3000 from Project 529 Legion for Title Sponsorship! So what does that mean for our $20k goal? More than you think.

Mountain biking is about adaptability; as riders we embrace changes in weather, light conditions, and terrain. On some days we’re served up miles of hero dirt—on others, swamped trails send us on to new routes. We understand that part of outdoor recreation is the varying conditions—and that’s part of the fun.

The North Face has announced Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance as a winner of the 2015 Explore Fund grant for our Youth Education Program!

Last week, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance partnered with Friends of Cheasty Greenspace to take part in an exciting project through the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation Department.
The project aimed to connect diverse, underserved youth to nature by engaging them in a six-week summer employment program. Focused on urban forest restoration and community leadership development, the project selected 10 teenage applicants from the area to take part through the Rainier Vista Environmental Leadership Institute.

I've had the privilege of serving as the Executive Director of Evergreen for 5 1/2 years now. During that time it has been incredible to see what our staff, volunteers, and community have accomplished: new riding opportunities around the state; exponential stewardship growth through volunteer trail work; a rider education program with volunteer instructors that is second to none; and recognition and respect as partners by land managers around the state.
