Ideal After Last Night’s Rain

22 | Apr | '26

Last night in Chelan, we had high wind and an overnight early morning rain. It stopped after 8am so I grabbed the bike and climbed the Butte to catch the damp soil. The sandy clay in the upper half of the Butte road was clogging my tread in a couple spots during the climb but the downhill was grippy and hero. There were a couple gravelly spots from winter erosion but that was expected. If it wasn’t for the headwind during the traverse, I might have got a personal best. The video of the full descent is here if you want to see the GoPro Hero13 Black with Ultra Wide Lens.

The Trailforks Ride Log is here.
