It has been 2-1/2 weeks since I got a ride in at North Mountain so I chose Darrington for today’s beautiful weather ride. There is still 4-8" of snow at the upper lot in the shade and on the road up to the tower, so Out of the Blue and Hoot Owl are a week or two away from being clear at the top. Below that, the soil was ideal and the roots were dry! Skyline and Lower Showcase were hero! I got personal bests on both today! The only issue today was a blown over root ball that obstructed half of the Showcase trail below Quick Release. You can ride around it but it will slow you down for a quick moment. Get up to Darrington before the next rain comes!!! The Trailforks ride log is here.
