Skyline Is Almost Clear

Darrington drains really well so all you had to worry about today was the wet roots after an atmospheric river week like we’ve had previously. The rains mitigated the 2 feet of snow that came over most of the Skyline Trail, so there was only 10 inches of snow again at the upper lot and maybe a 100 yard length of snow on Upper Skyline before the trail was ideal with some wind fall. There is one, 100' section of the trail where the rains have followed the trail down and a drain above might be necessary to keep erosion ruts from occurring. There is a Trailforks ridelog photo showing that location.  One other warning is on Lower Skyline, where one tree has fallen across the trail, but it's a "duck-under" obstacle during a cornering maneuver. You will see that picture also in the ridelog.

After my run down Skyline, I took the truck back up to the upper parking lot and brought the saw down to mitigate one tree across the trail.  It was a beautiful weather day and the Trailforks ride log is here.
