First Tubeless Hassle

14 | Feb | '26

Today I climbed to the summit and then came down Scorpion and Unemployment Line. I transitioned into tubeless tires on my Turbo Levo a couple weeks ago and it’s been working great, but today at Galbraith, I had my first tubeless failure while going down Unemployment Line. Maybe my hits were heavy, or tires too low, or too many side loads, but I lost a tire bead seal on the rear tire and the day was over and accepted the hassle of descending with a lame bike.

Since it was Valentine’s Day, ….instead of adding a tube to finish the day, I decided just to glide down to the parking lot. Then I finished my ride and prioritized my Cupid errands.  At least Valentine’s Day and the romantic efforts were a wonderful success. Figured out the tire issue at home. ;-)

Trails were rained on earlier in the day so there were a few small puddles but not a problem. More rain/snow coming this week so come get it soon! The Trailforks ride log is here.
