Do the Long Loop

25 | Apr | '18

The scenery was simply amazing and the weather a little on the warm side since this was my 2nd MTB ride after surviving another Seattle Winter.  Techy double track is a very apt description.  Loose rocks over hard pack makes for challenging climbing and descending.  Glad I went with my full suspension.

I thought I would make a fairly easy day of it and do the short loop but the section that bisects the long loop to create the short loop was hard to follow because it was overgrown.  Every time I found the trail it would disappear again.  It ended up being more hike than bike and it probably took me three hours to do that section.   I also did the ride counterclockwise and had I done it clockwise, I think I would have found the short loop turn-off but would have turned around since that section was the worst and hardest to follow.  I am guessing it's easier in the fall when there is less vegetation.

Still better than a good day at work and I'll be back for the long loop.
