Taylor Mt

Rode this last evening (8/20/14), fun trail, moderate-advanced beginner-intermediate level trails and gravel roads. The ride from the parking lot up and down Holder Ridge is dry and smooth rolling through dense woods. From the creek at the bottom up toward Holder knob, the trail is dry with loose sprinkles of baseball sized gravel.

The Whisky Still trail was in great shape down to Mt. Beaver trail. The Mt. Beaver trail has two large concrete pylons at the head of the trail so you know you hit the right one. From there down to Carey Creek the trail is a little bit loose with large gravel in spots, but is really fun as it winds down to Carey Creek. The trail from the bridge heading east along Carey Creek was in great shape, mostly dry until the next creek crossing where the climb out of the creek bed is really loose sand and gravel. As you climb out of the creek, there is a false trail to the left that climbs sharply up a bank, don't be fooled, continue to the right out to the main trail/road toward the horse lot at 208th St. From there continue back up Cedar Falls road or the Elk Ridge trail back to the main roads and out to the parking lot on Hobart Rd.

Overall, a nice trail, a few nice evening sunset views, plenty of solitude and a moderate ride.
