This morning, I was over in Chelan to take care of some family business, and since it was a fairly clear, cool day, and not too much smoke, I decided to bring the bike over to the Chelan Butte to do one lap on the downhill trail. I climbed the trail up to the Winter Traverse, and then took the Traverse over to the Butte Road. The Traverse is full of tumbleweed and goat-head plants and could really use another mowing or brushing by the County or whoever would like to go up there with some equipment. There is still some lingering smoke coming over from the Little Giant fire, but you couldn’t really smell it until you got up to 3000 feet. The valley was fairly clear. The run down the downhill trail was pretty dry with gravelly spots still but a fun, scenic, descent. The Trailforks Activity Log for the ride today is here.
