Wild Flower Explosion

Great ride.  I'd never ridden there before.  This is my first ever report.

Four of us parked at the lower Cub Creek trailhead and rode the bikes 3 miles up the road to the "Deer Valley" sign. LOTS of shade breaks on the way up as this was my first ride of the year. After the road petered out and became a single track was when the show began.  I rode Sage Hills the same weekend last year and the flowers here were even better than there.  The trail is in great shape, there's a giant muddy area at the end of the big downhill section that I'm told is pretty much a year 'round occurence. The views were fantastic, especially with a good snow cover still in the mountains.

I would advise anyone riding this to bring lots of water ( I went through 2 litres) and a sandwich, as I don't think bars will cut it. The whole trip took about 4 hours and we didn't go to the lake.  The beer and tortilla chips at the end were great.  I saw a couple groups use two cars to avoid the first big climb, so if you're a weenie like me you may want to consider it.
