You will not want to miss this year’s Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day on Saturday, October 4th! Join us for a whole mountain experience with games, a dual slalom race, vendor village, food trucks and more. Once again, Bigfoot BMX will be hosting the 'Squatch Fest' Dual Slalom event on Deuces Wild! The event is free to attend, see below for dual slalom registration!

Created by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) in 2004 and recognized by the U.S. Congress, this annual event aims to introduce kids to the exciting world of mountain biking.
 
Whether your little one is a seasoned shredder or hopping on a mountain bike for the first time, Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day offers a welcoming and safe environment to hit the trails and make memories (and new friends!). Saturday, October 4th, 10am-4pm.

Free Group Ride with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance Instructors 10:15 - 11:15 AM - Meet at the Evergreen Tent!

Dual Slalom Seeding - 10:30

Break for Dual Slalom riding after seeding runs 11:30 AM - 12:30 pm

Games with Sweetlines & Washington Student Cycling League during lunch in the clearing! 11:30 AM - 1 PM

Dual Slalom Head to Heads - 12:30 - 2:00 PM

Breaking Barriers free workshop for Kids & Families with Coach April Katz - 1:15 - 2:15 PM

  • To create an empowering and inclusive mountain biking community by addressing common barriers to inclusion. We aim to create a safe and welcoming space for individuals to overcome the challenges they face at the entry level of mountain biking.

Raffle Time! - 2:30 PM (Must be present to win)

  • 10 Marin Youth Bikes!
  • 3 Smith Youth Helmets!
  • 5 Trek Youth Helmets!
  • Multiple Sets of tires!
  • Outdoor Research Gloves and Bags!

What to Expect

Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day is a public community event for families that includes riding, games, music, food, and more! 

Participation is free and the events are open to riders of all ages and skill levels. Donations are always welcome to help keep the event running and support Evergreen’s work in building and maintaining trails across the state.

  1. Save the Date: Saturday, October 4th.
  2. Invite Friends and Family: The more, the merrier! Bring your kids, friends, your kids' friends, and anyone who wants to get out on the trails for a fun day of mountain biking.
  3. What to Bring: Helmet, bike, snacks or cash to buy food/drinks.

Join us for a celebration of community, family, and getting the next generation on bikes. We hope to see you out there with us on Saturday, October 5th!
