Raging Tiger Tuesday
This year our plan for Tiger Tuesdays is to jump, bounce...leap(?) between the Tiger Mtn and Raging River trail systems on a weekly basis.
This week we're at Raging River, which it's much easier to get to Exit 27 than it is to Tiger via Hwy 18 on a week night so it shouldn't take as long to get there.
We will meet downhill from the gate to the Raging River access rd. Take exit 27 off highway 90 and go right. There is plenty of parking along the road or you can drive up the road and park in the DNR parking lot. If you park in the upper lot (Snoqualmie Point Park) past the gate, they do lock this gate at dusk.
The ride: Although listed as moderate, we encourage everyone who's interested to join us. We'll split into groups so that everyone has a good time. This is an out and back so it's easy to go as far as you like and then turn around.
There are 2 natural turn around points, one 6 1/2 miles up (awesome views) and one 8 1/2 miles up. Cool thing about this ride is that you can decide when you want to turn around and ride the flowy trail back down. It seems to be a little mellower climb than Master Link but it is longer and gains more elevation and I won't sugar coat it, it's still a grunt. I usually go as far as I can in 1.5hrs then turn around and bomb back down.
It's looking like it's going to be warm, please bring water along with helmet, bike in good working order, spare tube, yada yada yada, Don't be that person who forgets the basics.
Although there should be plenty of light, it doesn't hurt to have a light in case of mechanical.
Afterwards we will have our usual award winning brats! Barley pop provided by Chainline Brewing in Kirkland! I'll have a vegetarian option too.
Feel free to bring something to share or throw on the grill.
