About the Ride

Skill Level-->Beginner-Mediate. Greens & Blues

Pace-->Social/Moderate. Ride together and/or frequent regroups (at least at every trail junction)

I'll be on The Issaquah Plateau on Thursday evening, so doing a fun ride at Soaring Eagle Park beforehand. Super-chill pedal around, about 1.0-1.5 hours, about 5-8 miles, about 300-500 feet of climbing. We'll ride a social/moderate pace with time re-ride features or whatever. I don't have all the trails here memorized, so will be consulting Trailforks or maps in the park along the way.

Here's the Soarking Eagle Park trail description from Evergreen:

  • Soaring Eagle Park is 1 square mile of twisty, intersecting trails that all look alike. Fortunately for the directionally-challenged, there are maps posted at almost every intersection, so it's hard to get lost for very long.

    Because it's relatively small in total area, Soaring Eagle Park is a great place to get a quick ride after work and it's fabulous for night rides. The trails are twisty, rooty and bumpy, but not overly difficult. The combination of size and technical difficulty make it a great place for both new and experienced mountain bikers to work on their singletrack skills.

    Directions

    There are several parking lots for Soaring Eagle Park; we'll be meeting at the west parking lot at the end of East Main Drive in Sammamish. There are restrooms & on the Trailforks map you'll see the closest trails are "Parking Lot Connector" (Blue), "Double D" (Blue) & "Pipeline Trail" (Green). Here's the link to the parking lot that you can plug into your phone: https://goo.gl/maps/osFu29YUV3f7sEkv9

    We'll meet at 4:30, then after a quick intro & bike check, we'll hit the trails. Please be on time; we can't wait longer than 10 minutes for late riders to arrive.
