Crank Sisters Beginner-mediate ride, Tiger Mountain
Evergreen Crank Sisters Women's Group Beginner-mediate Ride, Tapeworm (Preston)
This is a ladies-only ride. If you're done being a beginner but not ready to tackle the black diamond trails on Tiger, or if you want a fun and supportive intro to Tiger Mountain, this is the ride for you. You don't need to be a fast climber (or descender) to join this ride.
Meet at the upper lot at 9:30 AM--go to the East Tiger Summit DOT lot off of highway 18, drive up the gravel road to the left, you'll see the upper lot on your right. You'll need a Discover Pass to park here. If you don't have one, park in the lower lot and ride up (leave an extra 10 minutes to get there on time.)
Starting time is 9:45 AM . Please be on time--we cannot wait more than 10 minutes for late arrivers.
Ride leader contact info: Rachel Robinson, 425-736-2382
Suggested Equipment: Discover Pass. Bring plenty of water, some food, and a spare tube for flat tires. Knee and elbow armor is recommended. You can ride these trails with a 4" travel bike, but if you have 5-6", bring it. Please make sure your bike is in good working order. (If you're not sure, have it tuned up before the ride.)
Trails: We can either ride up the road to Preston, or we can ride the ascending trail to the midpoint of the Summit Trail, then ride the lower half of Summit Trail, Preston, and out NW Timber. We'll vote the morning of the ride.
Conditions for cancellation: heavy wind, lightning. If a ride must be canceled, the ride leader will contact anyone signed up by 3pm the day before the ride.
Grunt rating: The climb is sustained and strenuous, but you'll be excused from going to the gym for the rest of the day. And we'll go slow and stop frequently.
Crank Sisters have a no-drop policy--we will regroup often and adjust the pace based on riders' preference.
Other information: Sessioning is encouraged. We can meet for lunch after the ride in Issaquah.
