This ride is for anyone who identifies as female.
Meet at Raging River at 9:00 am at the Main Trailhead by the bathrooms
DIRECTIONS: Take I-90 to Exit 27. Turn on to Winery Road and either park here or continue to the main parking lot (1/4 mile from I-90, Discover Pass needed). Ride the 50 feet of trail by the bathroom, Please stay off the hiking trails.
Starting time is 9:15 AM. Please be on time--we cannot wait more than 10 minutes for late arrivers.

Suggested Equipment: 2 liters of water, electrolytes, backpack with some snacks, and spare bike tube
About the ride and Who should attend:
This is a moderate pace ride with social interactions. However, the skill level is for Beginner/Intermediate riders who have good fitness for continuous riding uphill and then experience with fast downhill riding with a mix of flow and some technical features - short sections of rocks and roots. We will ride for about 2.5-3 hours doing as much uphill and downhill as possible to get back to the cars by noon. Mileage depends on our pace and if we repeat a lap. We are going to climb uphill on a single track trail with breaks at fire road intersections. We will decend downhill on the blue trails and avoid the black trails at a cautious pace making sure that no one gets dropped and looking around for others outside our group on the trails.
Trails: This Raging River ride is ideal for Beginner/Intermediate riders with decent fitness who want to challenge themselves on some faster descents. We will ride Upper Mobility (climbing) to Lower Poppin' Tops (descending) to Flow State (descending). We will climb a little under 1,000' in about 2.3 miles on a Green single track to the start of Lower Poppin' Tops (Blue) and descend from there. If the group is interested and time permits, we will attempt a second lap or a half lap.
Conditions for cancellation: (heavy wind, lightning, etc.) If a ride must be canceled, the ride leader will attempt to contact anyone signed up by 3pm the day before the ride.
Grunt rating: plan to ride for 2.5 hours
Crank Sisters have a no-drop policy--we will regroup often and adjust the pace based on riders' preference.
While we’re outside in the fresh air, it is important that we take precautions to minimize the risk of spreading COVID. This ride is limited to 8 riders. Sorry, but we can't accept "walk-ons". You do need to sign up here before arriving. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE RIDE, PLEASE CANCEL YOUR SPOT ONLINE AND/OR CONTACT THE RIDE LEADER ASAP SO THAT YOUR SPOT CAN BE OPENED UP FOR SOMEONE ELSE.
Before coming to the ride (for both ride leaders & participants):
· Make sure to fill out our online waiver
· Please perform a symptoms self-assessment
o Take your temperature. Do you have a temperature above 100.4?
o Do you have any COVID-related symptoms?
o Have you been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
o If you answer yes to any of these questions, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE RIDE
Expectations for riders & leaders:
·Required equipment: You are expected to bring a mask that can cover mouth and nose, any material is acceptable (state guidelines) and gloves (your biking gloves are OK). Please note that without this PPE, we will have to ask you to leave the ride
·Please bring hand sanitizer and / or disinfectant wipes to use as needed if touching of a common surface is required
·You will be asked to wear your mask anytime close contact (less than 6ft) is required for an extended period of time (>5 min), including during any bike checks, times when you're stopped for discussion, or if you come into contact with other trail users.
·Please bear with us as we try to navigate group rides during a time of social distancing and additional hygiene. It's a learning process for all of us and I appreciate your flexibility and cooperation.
