Evergreen Crank Sisters Women's Group Beginner-mediate Ride at Tiger Mountain

This is a ladies-only ride.   If you're done being a beginner but not ready to tackle the harder trails at Tiger, or if you want a great intro to Tiger Mountain, this is your ride. We will climb the new ascending trail (Master link), ride to the summit, then ride down Summit Trail, Preston Railroad trail, then take the road to Northwest Timber.  If you've ridden Preston before, the Summit trail is a little bit more technical, but also flowy and very fun.  We can stop and session the difficult parts.  You do NOT have to be a fast climber (or descender) to do this ride--it's meant to be a fun, supportive intro to all-mountain riding.  Plan to be on the mountain for 3-5 hours. Bring plenty of water and some food, bug repellent, and a tube and pump so you can fix a flat. Please make sure your bike is in good working order.  If you're not sure, take it in for a tune-up before the ride.

Meet at the Tiger Mountain summit upper lot at 10:00 AM.   (pull into the DOT lot off highway 18, then take the road to the left, up to the upper lot.) You will need a Discover Pass to park there--if you don't have one, park in the lower lot and ride up the road to meet us, but be sure to arrive with plenty of time to get up there  (an extra 10 minutes.)

Starting time is 10:15 AM.    Please be on time--we cannot wait more than 10 minutes for late arrivers.

Ride leader contact info:  Rachel Robinson 425-736-2382

Suggested Equipment:  Discover Pass.  Elbow and knee armor are recommended.  You can ride these trails on a 4" travel bike, but if you have 5 or 6 inches, bring it.

Trails:  Master Link ascending trail, Summit trail, Preston Railroad Trail, NW Timber.  This is subject to change based on weather, trail conditions, etc.

Conditions for cancellation: Heavy wind, lightning.    If a ride must be canceled, the ride leader will attempt to contact anyone signed up by 3pm the day before the ride.

Grunt rating: The climb to the summit is pretty sustained and will probably take an hour an a half to 2 hours--we'll take our time and rest when folks get tired.  The new ascending trail is a lot more fun than riding up the road, and it's shady!

Crank Sisters have a no-drop policy--we will regroup often and adjust the pace based on riders' preference.

Other information:   If the weather is very hot, we may try to start an hour earlier--I'll let you know a few days before the ride.
