The Dirt’s Calling and you must go - Shovel & Shred is BACK, join us for the women & non-binary trail event of the year!
Women and non-binary folks are invited, alongside Evergreen trail builders and Red Bull Athletes, for two days of bringing together an epic MTB community. To put it simply: we will dig, ride and chill.
WHAT: Shovel & Shred, two days of trail building and riding with the women and non-binary mountain bike community across the PNW.
WHEN: Saturday and Sunday May 17 - 18th, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM each day, with optional evening activities at Whitehorse Campground.
WHERE: Moe’s Darrington and North Mountain, Darrington WA.
CAMPING*: Is optional but highly recommended for Saturday night at minimum. See below for camping recommendations.
SHOVEL: Saturday is a full day of trail work and learning! Led by our Evergreen trail builders and Red Bull athletes, we'll be digging just outside of Darrington on the North Mountain trail system with a variety of projects fit for any dig experience. The community asked and we are bringing all 70 of you together to make it happen! Snacks and refreshments will be available to bring on trail with a special end of day delight served by Moe's Darrington.
CHILL: As any MTB weekend, Saturday night we will be providing an après session, complete with drinks and places to mingle, where you can reflect on the day, high-five the accomplishments, and connect for future greatness! Dinner is not included, however Darrington offers great places to dine or cook your own meal at your campsite!
SHRED: Sunday is ferda bikes, with a full day of shuttling. After a morning mindset chat, we will throw on the bike gear and hop in the vans with Huckwagons to shuttle the trails you fixed up on North Mountain with a bunch of rad humans! There are a few options of trail from “spicy blue” to “spicy black”, sign-ups will be run the day-of. Shuttles will be running all day provided by Sacred Rides and Huckwagon.
We are really excited for the day and we have great support from Red Bull, SRAM, Transition, Moe’s Cafe, Sacred Rides, Huckwagons MTB Shuttle Trailer and many more. We will be snagging photos and videos throughout the weekend too!
*Camping: We recommend supporting the community by booking a campsite at Whitehorse campground (closest to the venue) or Squire Creek Campground (~10 minute drive). All camp spots are excellent for sharing too!
There are scholarships available to cover the cost of the event fee, please email event co-lead for more details.
