We have suspended all Evergreen community events, education classes, volunteer work parties and in-person meetings through May 31st. This applies statewide across our 8 chapters. If you have signed up for an Evergreen-sponsored event happening during this time, you will be contacted by an administrator.

Good news: You can host a virtual event, and add it to the Evergreen calendar same way as any other event before. Simply log in and hit the New Event button.

Crank Sisters Beginner-mediate Afternoon on Grand Ridge

01/06/2019,  1:00 pm -  5:00 pm

Evergreen Crank Sisters Women's Group Beginner-mediate Afternoon Ride at Grand Ridge
This is a ladies-only ride. Meet at Duthie parking lot and be ready for lots of climbing! We won't go super-fast but steady and we may go far today. Be prepared to ride all the way to the bottom of the trails by I-90 and see the whole big loop on the way back up. Exact route TBD. Bring a headlamp just in case.

Wheels rolling at 1:15. Please be on time -- we cannot wait more than 10 minutes for late arrivers. If you sign up and decide not to come, PLEASE text me!

Ride Leader contact info: Doraine Raichart (208-869-6209)

Trails: Starting from the main Duthie parking lot, we'll head up Grand Ridge and take Watertower loop. Over the pass we'll descend the south side either all the way down to the I-90 frontage trail. or take the loop just above it, and climb back out. Then we've got all that great downhill to ride back to the cars. Exact route will be decided based on rider preferences, and are subject to change based on weather, trail conditions, etc.
Conditions for cancellation: Heavy wind, lightning, deep snow or heavy rain. We ride in the moderate rain and cold! If a ride must be canceled, the ride leader will attempt to contact anyone signed up by 3 pm the day before the ride.
Grunt rating: There's climbing! Please plan to ride for up to three hours with breaks.
Bring lots of water and some high-energy snacks to fuel you for the climb. The trails are mostly smooth flowy low-tech trails with occasional roots and rocky stream bed crossingsCrank Sisters have a no-drop policy - we will regroup often and adjust the pace based on riders' preference.

Required/recommended gear: Since we'll finish riding closer to sunset, bring a charged light source just in case. Water and electrolytes (Shot Bloks, Sport Beans, etc.) can be a lifesaver when there's a mountain still between you and the car.

Other information: Sessioning is encouraged. Please make sure your bike is in good working order. If you're not sure, please have it checked by your bike mechanic prior to the ride. Bring a spare tube and pump so you can fix a flat tire.

Location Grand Ridge from Duthie side
