Evergreen Crank Sisters Beginners and Family Ride at Redmond Bike Park
Calling all beginners and anyone who would like a nice low-key outing on some gentle woodsy trails and our newly redesigned neighborhood pump track.  This is a great opportunity to bring your youngster out on their bike in a fun social environment. SOs are welcome, too. We will meet at 2:00 pm at the southwest end of Hartman Park on 172nd Ave NE in Redmond.

After a brief bike safety check, we will start with a short exploration of the open space trails and then return to loop the pump track and green, blue, and black jump lines as many times as you'd like.
Ride Leader contact info: Doraine Raichart
(208-869-6209)

Trails: We'll take Ashford Trail out and branch off to explore the open woods between neighborhoods for 1/2 mile to a mile. Based on who attends, we could expand the trail ride by another mile each way to Nike Neighborhood Park for a little farther destination before turning back to Redmond Bike Park. There we can loop around and practice our handling skills on the newly optimized berms and banked turns of the pump track. There are a couple of bridge features as well as 3 levels of jump line for the more adventurous. Finish time for this ride is open-ended. Ride the loops until you're ready to call it good.
Conditions for cancellation: Heavy wind, lightning, deep snow or heavy rain. We ride in the moderate rain and cold! If a ride must be canceled, the ride leader will attempt to contact anyone signed up by 7 pm the evening before the ride.

Benefits of your RSVP: In addition to being on the distribution list for any announcements about the ride, every registered participant is counted by Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance to show the level of community involvement which helps bring in more grant money to support more trail-building!
Grunt rating: This is a mellow park overall
. The neighborhood open space trails have a couple of minor climbs that aren't particularly steep (as long as you don't follow Ashford Trail all the way down to 180th Ave NE, because it's a long climb coming back up). Crank Sisters have a no-drop policy - we will regroup often and adjust the pace based on riders' preference.

Other information: Please make sure your bike is in good working order. If you're not sure, please have it checked by your bike mechanic prior to the ride. Bring a spare tube and pump so you can fix a flat tire.

Location Redmond Bike Park, south of Hartman Park near Redmond High School
