Volunteer trail maintenance training class

Fall is just around the corner and this means the time is approaching for local mountain bikers who care about our awesome trails to get involved in keeping them in shred-able shape. Maybe you have the time and desire to do trail work but aren’t sure how to maintain the trails the right way. And the last thing you want to do is mess them up. Well, your local Evergreen chapter, Cascades to Sound, is offering folks the chance to become expert volunteer trail maintenance workers by completing a trail maintenance training class.
The class will be held at Tokul, but folks who complete the class will have the skills to do independent trail maintenance at Tiger Mtn, Raging River, and Tokul. This allow our trail builders to focus their energy on building new trails.
The focus will be on general trail maintenance. Brushing the trails using weed whackers, leaf blowers and hand tools, clearing drains, fixing simple tread issues, cutting blow down and clearing trails in clear cuts.
Interested? Here’s the logistics:
When: Saturday, Oct 6. 9 am to 2 pm
Where: We will meet at the Tokul West Parking lot located at Fall City Park. We’ll be doing the necessary fall trail work on one or more Tokul West trails.
What you need:
Bike, Appropriate work clothes (long pants, gloves, eye protection, weather gear if raining), lunch, snacks, water.
Cost: $10 donation.
Course is limited to 12 people (we will hold more trainings if there is demand)
