Come join us for a weekend of building and riding on Orcas Island! Moran State Park has some of the best trails in the Pacific Northwest ranging from flowy singletrack to an amazing jump line from the top of Mount Constitution. This gathering is a long-standing (20ish year) tradition, which includes many groups of Mountain bikers from around the PNW. This is an amazing example of how the volunteer trail work of mountain bikers has re-opened trails which were once closed to us.
We have free camping available in the park on Friday and Saturday night, September 14th - 16th. This camp is drive-up and has drinkable water and bathrooms.
We will be camping in the North End Campground. Just a 1/4 mile past the park entrance on the left. Once you register for the event, please email me with how many people you will have in your group and we'll work out camping logistics and assign you to a site.
The main day of trailwork will be Saturday 9/15, the seasonal opening day for mountain biking on Mt. Constitution! We'll meet in the North End Campground at 9:00am to start gathering for a day of work.
This is a very casual weekend, with trail work and riding happening both Saturday and Sunday. Participants should expect to work a total of 8 hours through the weekend. There are several good food options in East Sound (20ish minutes from camp), as well as a grocery store, gas station, etc.
This is an all ages event. If you plan on bringing a minor please make sure they have a Minor Release filled out beforehand! Evergreen Minors Waiver Form
YOU MUST MAKE A FERRY RESERVATION
The Anacortes to Orcas Ferry is very busy. No Reservations for Friday afternoon or returning Sunday are currently available. Reservations are available on August 31st for the Friday ferry and September 2nd for Sunday at 7:00am. Being on the computer a few minutes before 7:00 and ready to reserve is your best bet for securing a reservation. Some reservations are available for Saturday morning. Try and make it out as early as possible for trail work. We'll leave info for where to find us if you arrive late. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the ferry reservation process.
