Goat Creek is located south of Mt Rainier in the Gifford-Pinchot Forest or what is affectionately called the Dark Divide. This will be a bit of an adventure. While I am familiar with the area, I have never been to this trail. But from what I have read it is an extremely beautiful creek with several water falls and plenty of old growth trees. The route follows Goat Creek for several miles and then climbs out of the valley on a rather steep trail. The plan is to go as far as we can until we hit snow, blowdown, or simply run out of energy, and then turn around. There may be stream crossing, blow down hopping, and snow riding. In other words expect an adventure.

Logistics: Several of us are going down to Mossy Rock on Friday to camp on someone's property and folks can join us there. Or you can meet us at 9:30 in the morning in Morton in front of the Mexican restaurant at the corner of Highway 12 and Highway 7. Keep in mind Morton is about 2 hours away from Seattle. If you are interested in joining us, let me know if you want head down Friday or meet up In the morning.
