Meet time:  9:45am, be ready to ride by 10am

This is a beginner ride, so we will discuss some basics before we start pedaling up the road HOWEVER this is not a skills clinic or a bike maintenance class.  Please bring a mountain bike in good working condition with knobby tires.  Be sure to put air in your tires, check your brakes and shifting, and get your suspension set up specifically for you at a bike shop.

Plan for a 2.5 hour/5-7 mile ride with breaks to re-group and discuss the trail.  This is a NO DROP ride and our pace will be determined by the group.

We will start by pedaling up the paved road and will descend Laura's Line.  If everyone is feeling solid, we will pedal up the road and descend Lower Hide n Seek.

Laura's Line and Lower Hide n Seek are packed dirt tread w/ some roots and a berms made of dirt or cinder block.  The trail is not particularly difficult but it can be slippery if it has recently rained so I recommend everyone bring knee pads and consider elbow pads too.

Grunt rating is moderate with a social pace.  If you are a roadie or do cross, the pedal up will feel easier since you are used to spinning.  It's about 1.75 miles to the start of Lower Hide n Seek.

Things to bring:  a mtn bike in good working order with knobby tires!!!  Helmet, 1.5 liters of water in a hydration pack, trail snacks, knee/elbow pads, spare tube and pump, tire levers, and dress in layers.  We will be stopping to look at the trail and possibly do some sessioning.

Conditions for cancelation:  If there are high winds, snow or ice this ride will be canceled.  I will post an update by 6pm the day before the ride and will attempt to contact those who have signed up.

We may be stopping for lunch afterwards in Sandy.
