May the 4th Be With You Group Ride at Beacon Hill
What to expect:
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…there was a disturbance to the Flow. An Alliance of Trailbuilders created the Jedi base of Beacon Hill. They brought balance to the Flow and saved this precious landscape from the Sith lords set to destroy it.
Please join Evergreen East on May the 4th for a ride at Beacon Hill that is out of this galaxy! We will climb together to the Imperial Towers. From there we will split off into groups based on rider level for the descent. Will you choose to speeder bike through the trees of Endor, ride over the dirt jumps of Tatooine, or tackle the gnarly rocks of Alderaan? Follow the way of the Jedi or succumb to the Dark Side!
Directions:
We will be meeting at the Camp Sekani Shed. Park in the Camp Sekani gravel lot https://maps.app.goo.gl/6yBem4izgimYoeqq6. Please be ready to roll at 11:00 am!
Ride Description:
This will be a no-drop ride through the galaxy. Expect a 6-7 mile journey and approximately 800-1000 ft of elevation, with the option for more mileage depending on the group. If there are young Padawans accompanied by their parents/guardians or anyone that does not want to ride all the way to the Towers, there will be a shorter loop of approximately 3-4 miles and 500-600 ft of elevation. See update below for more ride route details.*
Please bring your bike in good working condition, a helmet, repair tools/supplies, water, snacks, and additional safety gear like knee/elbow pads if needed.
Dressing up like your favorite Star Wars character is encouraged!
*Novice/advanced beginner and intermediate riders will be climbing a green trail (Upchuck) and descending green and blue flow single track trails. Expect some small rocky sections and berms. Examples of possible descending trails include Simple Tools and Rabid Rabbit.
Strong intermediate/advanced riders will be ascending a green trail (Upchuck) to the Towers. Depending on the group, descending trails could include blue and single black trails . Riders should be able to ride features like small table top jumps, rollable small drops, and short steep roll downs and ladders. These may include any of the following trails: Evil Twin/Good Twin, Tire Trail, Quarantine, Stalingrab, Artificial High, and Lower Old School.
See Trailforks.com for details on these trails. Routes will be decided before descending on the day of the ride and according to skill level of groups. Let's have fun and adventure but also ride safely and within our skill level.
