11th Annual Capitol Forest Classic

Time is running out to register to for the 2017 Capitol Forest Classic. Registration for the will close at midnight on Wednesday, August 9th. There will be NO day-of registration, so don't wait!

The Classic remains the funnest event of the race season, and all proceeds go directly to the Friends of Capitol Forest and our new trail projects. The course is buffed out and brushed, food is ordered, and, according to the extended forecast, we have wonderful PNW weather in store! If you are camping in the woods, bring your blankets and watch the Perseid meteor shower light up the night sky.
If you want to get the party started early, come on out Friday night, August 10th, for the final Friday Night Super D of the season on Little Larch Mountain! Registration at 5:30, "racing" at 6:30. Entry is a five dollar donation to FOCF per race.
Race Schedule: Saturday, August 12th
8:00-9:00 am: Check-in
9:15 am: MANDATORY Rider's meeting
10:00 am: Race start. Racers will be sent out in waves by category, approx. ten minutes apart. Poker Run participants will start after the last wave of racers.
1:00-4:00 pm: BBQ and kids races
Awards and raffle will begin as soon as results are calculated.
Course will be open for Double-D practice as soon as the XC course has been cleared, approx. 3-4 pm.

9:15 am: MANDATORY Rider's meeting
10:30 am: Race start. Racers will be released in one-minute intervals. There are no official start times, but racers are strongly encouraged to race with others in their category.
1:00-3:00 pm: BBQ and kids races
Awards for the Double-D and the All Mountain categories will begin as soon as results are calculated.
Camping Information
Free camping is available at the Fall Creek Campground, located adjacent to the Fall Creek Day Use area. Campsites are first-come, first-served, and they fill up FAST. Many campsites are big enough to accommodate multiple people/vehicles, so share your site and make new friends! Camping is also available at the Margaret McKenny and Middle Waddell Campgrounds, both of which are a ten minute drive from Fall Creek. Bring your own water and pack out all trash.
Shuttling and Practice for the Double-D
The Double-D course is open for practice on Friday, and as soon as the XC course has been cleared on Saturday afternoon. There is no official shuttle on Sunday, so carpool with some friends and we will make sure you get back to your vehicle at the top. Shuttling is allowed up to the top of Greenline ONLY - racers must pedal (non-timed) to the top of Little Larch Mountain for the second stage.
