Rat Pac WorkParty
Come help get Rat Pac ready to ride this season!
Last week we made it down to the road crossing just above "The Rock". This week we are going to continue down the trail clearing debris, brushing where needed and performing treadwork to improve drainage, repair damage and improve flow.
We will meet at the end of Alliance Rd., off SR 903, across from Cle Elum Roslyn High School, at the turn around just past the Coal Mine Trail crossing. You can drive your car up the ridge (3 miles of potholed and rutted gravel) or if you would rather not drive jump in with someone else to carpool to the top. We lock the gates behind us, so we all need to go up and come down at the same time.
Bring a spring rake and handsaw/loppers/pruning shears as there is a lot of debris on the trail to be cleared and lot's of overhanging branches that need to be cut back. A McLeod or Rogue Hoe will be useful. I'll bring some extra tools for loan, so if you don't have any tools, come anyway and we will hook you up!
Dress for the weather, bring gloves, food and water.
We plan to work for 3-4 hours. If you want to bring a bike and get a shuttle lap in, I'll try to accomodate you but success will depend us on finding a vehicle to put your bike on or in (so no guarantees but we will try!).
