Thompson Ridge Work Party - Bike Riding Required! - Methow
Come join us to get our Sun Mountain trails reopened!
After a tough summer in 2021, many of the Sun Mountain trails were affected by the Cedar Creek Fire. We need your help to bring these trails back to a safe and rideable condition.
IMPORTANT: Bringing your bike and riding gear is required for this workparty! We will be splitting into groups and doing a "rolling work party" on segments of the Thompson Ridge Trail. Now that it has heated up, many of the burned branches close to the trail have drooped into the trail corridor and need to be cleared/removed/trimmed back before we can open the trail which is planned to be done by the end of August. It's a great opportunity to ride the trail before it is officially reopened!
If you have loppers or a hand saw, please bring them along. Those will be the main tools for the day.
We’ll meet at the North End of the Thompson Ridge Trail/Start of Gobbler's Teaser at 9AM on Saturday August 6th.
