The 2016 Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival: Breaking Records with 2 days!

Sunday evening marked a historic day for the Evergreen Bike Festival in Issaquah, WA. Sure, it was our 7th year. And we were thrilled with the record 3,500+ attendees and more bikes, brands, and demos that ever before. But we also tried something we hadn’t in the past—and it looks like it worked out!

This year, our partners at King County Parks and Recreation supported us in doing what many folks have been asking for—expanding to two full days! For the first time ever the Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival—powered by Carter Subaru—ran the entirety of the weekend!

And we couldn’t be happier with the results. More people on bikes, more prizes and events, and more families and first-time riders enjoying Duthie trails than ever before.

With Saturday remaining the festival Washington riders have come to expect and Sunday offering an entire extra day to demo, race, and win prizes, we were stunned at the number of people who showed up both days.

Saturday included the always-crowd-pleasing Jump Show courtesy of Sweetlines and Go Huck Yourself, as well as a stellar beer garden from the amazing folks at Schooner Exact Brewing!  Kid’s events from Sweetlines, guided rides with Evergreen instructors, multiple Pump Track Challenges, scavenger hunts, and skills clinics with NW Trials (to name a few) kept riders of all abilities busy throughout the day.

Red Bull joined the festivities again with the MXT to play tunes and videos, and Sun Peaks Resort and Dirt Merchant Bikes headlined the raffles with a free night stay at Sun Peaks and a FULL Turner RFX bike (worth over $4,500)!

Sunday opened early with an exclusive demo hour for Evergreen’s 2016 Team Epic members and quickly rolled into a day packed with pump track races, guided rides from Evergreen Instructors and the Evergreen Crank Sisters, and more great prizes including a full Line from the folks at Diamondback and an amazing suprise $3,000 check to Evergreen from Simon Lawton of Fluidride for his Summer Solstice ride series!

The weekend’s record-breaking number of families, kids, and first-time visitors (and riders!) to Duthie, continues to show how accessible and welcoming our biking community is here in Washington. We’d like to thank everyone who attended (especially those who became new members!) for joining us for the historic 2016 Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival!  If you didn’t make it, we hope to see you at Evergreen Bike Festival 2017!
