About the Ride:
It's another fun themed ride this month as we celebrate Crank Sisters' 10th Anniversary! We'll hit the trail for a fun filled morning with like minded, adventurous mountain biking women! Crank Sisters has a no-drop policy - you will regroup often with your ride leader. There will be multiple ride leaders so you can go at the pace that feels right for you!
We'll meet at 10:00 AM, and after a quick intro, bike check, and group photos, we'll hit the trails. Please be on time: we can't wait longer than 15 minutes for late riders to arrive.
Evergreen's Trail Description:
Big views, big vert, just outside North Bend
The trail starts near Rattlesnake Lake, just a few minutes outside of North Bend and only 40 minutes from Seattle.
The first several miles amble up Cedar Butte through pristine forest, then turn east and ascend the flanks of Mt. Washington. As you climb, the sounds of I90 will slowly fade away. The tread is buff and non-technical, but don't let that deceive you into thinking the climb will be easy - although sculped to maximize ascent efficiency, the incline is relentless. The good news is that all translates to a virtually pedal-free blurred roller-coaster ride back down! This will require some care, as the trail is two-way.
At various points along the trail, you'll find stunning vistas from the marked viewpoints, some with a hand-hewn bench for getting a breath and a bite.
We will be riding greens and blues for a distance of approximately 5-8 miles; specific trails to be ridden will be shared at the start of the ride and will be dependent on weather, trail conditions, and ride levels.
