Gold Hill Chewelah - Help us finish two new machine-built flow trails at Gold Hill! - 9AM start
We need your help completing two new machine-built flow trails!
We'll have an excavator on site building up berms on two new flow trials April 10-17, so we need "all hands on deck" to hand-shape and hone these trails while the dirt still has moisture. We're building two additional fast and flowy trails just in time for the spring and summer riding season.
If you've ridden our existing machie-built flow trail (the Balsam Root Bomber) you know how much fun can be had on a trail with big, smooth berms. But the excavator can't put the finishing touches on these trails--that's why we need your help. Come help us add two more flow trails this spring!
No experience necessary--if you can rake or shovel, you're qualified! ;-)
Bring your bike and go for a ride after you pitch in and help with the trails.
Background on Gold Hill Community Forest - Gold Hill is a 400 acre community forest acquired by the Chewelah Valley Land Trust (CVLT) just a few years ago. Located just north of Chewelah (the north side of the Golf & Country Club) in Stevens County. Trails are in the early stages of development, so there will be everything from brushing, digging, raking to develop new trails to brush trimming and vegetation management on existing ones.
CVLT & Evergreen will have some tools on-site to get this job done—but if you have a favorite trail-building tool (e.g. shovel, rake, Rogue hoe, McCleod, loppers, or similar), please bring those along. Gloves, sturdy shoes/boots and safety/sun glasses strongly recommended.
Logistics:
- When: Meet at 9:00 AM - stay for an hour or two--or longer if you like.
- Where to meet: The new Chewelah Community Forest parking lot ( https://goo.gl/maps/ZFViFhjrTeLRqFV3A) near the Chewelah golf course.
- What you should bring: Work gloves, eye protection, sturdy footwear, and your favorite trail-building tool l if you have one (don't forget sunscreen and water!)
We look forward to seeing you!
