Cleanup of forest service road NF-9020 and trail head near North Bend, WA. The NF-9020 road is what you take to get to McClellan Butte hiking trail, Mount Gardner hiking trail, and most importantly the Harris Creek hiking and mountain biking trail. I've been maintaining the Harris Creek trail and NF-9020 for 7 years now, but need your help.

Start time is negotiable if it makes difference in your ability to attend.

We will be driving up the NF-9020 forest service road to pick up trash.

Specifics:

IN SCOPE. We can tackle smaller trash items. Not glorious work, but I've been doing it regularly and it makes a huge impact. The side of the road and down embankments is likely 2-4 hours work remaining. The priority is the trash at the illegal shooting pit, but in case there are people using it we will only tackle the side of the road so as to avoid conflict.

COMPLETED ALREADY. At 1.5 miles up NF-9020, it is popular area to illegally dump items and illegal target shooting. There is a refrigerator box(missing doors, motor, and electronics) that needs to be hauled out, among other things. Since it's just the box, it weighs little and can be lifted with only 2 people required. Time permitting, we can get more of the medium sized trash there, people actively dump there so it is expected to see more items than just the refrigerator.

REASSIGNED. At 0.3 miles up NF-9020, there is a pair of couches dumped 100 feet off the road. Wade from Friends of The Trail agreed to tackle this.

We will meet up at Olallie State Park, which has parking and porto-potty. Olallie State Park is just a mile drive after taking Exit 38 from I-90. From there, it is just another mile to NF-9020 where we will collect the trash. Afterwards, we will drive to the landfill in North Bend to dump the items recovered from the forest service road and trail heads.

Details on the recycling aspect of this event is below. Note: Original plan coincides with this event, but we already disposed of the refrigerator so the work is all about trash not recycling.
