Upper Last Call Q&A with our lead volunteer trail builder, Jamie Hass
When can we ride it?
The trail is under construction and is expected to open in Spring 2027, date TBD.
Who’s building it?
It’s being built entirely by volunteers.
Where is it?
Upper Last Call is an optional line that branches off Upper Over & Out and connects back into it.
What will it be like to ride?
It’s a hand-built trail with a lot of classic PNW tech. The upper section weaves through the trees and uses the natural terrain, so you’ll find plenty of roots, small rock drops, and steep technical sections. We even built an optional double-black rock roll. The last section flattens out and gets fast and flowy, with a couple of optional jumps too.
How’s the build going?
After a summer break, we had two big work parties over the past two weeks and finished grubbing the last section of trail. That means you can now see dirt from the top to the bottom.
What’s left to do?
There’s still a lot of tread work and rock armoring to finish. Our sawyers are also clearing several downed trees. Big shout out to Bob Carrasca for his amazing sawyer work getting the trail started, and for all the sawing and building he’s done since.
What’s it been like to build?
It’s been an incredible and humbling experience. It’s given me a deep appreciation for all the amazing builders in our community and for how much effort goes into building a trail from scratch. I’m grateful for the community’s support and for everyone who’s shown up to work parties.
How can I help?
We’ll be posting a lot more work parties soon. Our goal is at least one big work party every other weekend, plus a few smaller midweek ones. We could really use the MTB community’s help finishing this all-volunteer trail, so if you have time, please sign up for a work party.
I can’t wait to see riders out there enjoying it soon!
