Because Two New Tiger Trails are Better than One!

Tiger Mountain has seen an explosion in sustainable trails over the last few years thanks to Evergreen and DNR—from 7 miles in 2012 to over 14 miles today!  And after DNR just recently completed Off-the-Grid you would think we’d be slowing down—but that’s not the case.  There are currently two new trails being built on Tiger Mountain!

Evergreen is currently in full-on trail-building mode on the new Descent Trail, with work parties going out every weekend, some weekdays, and with big sponsored work events every month.  If you’d like to join this historic effort—and we hope you do--you can see the work party calendar here for sign ups.

But what you may not know is that while Evergreen is building the most technical way down the mountain, Washington DNR Recreation Staff with help from WA Conservation Corps Crews are in the process of constructing a brand-new climbing trail!

This RCO (Recreation and Conservation Office) funded project will—when complete—allow riders the option of ascending via single track through the woods instead of the current logging road.  DNR has recently completed the trail design and permitting process and has started construction.

So how can you help?  Keep coming out for work parties!  DNR is planning some big ones for spring and Summer 2015.  But for the moment Evergreen needs your help on the descent trail we’re building in order to open it on time this summer.  Join a work party today and get ready for two great new trails on Tiger Mountain.
