Yvonne Kraus - Executive Director

Yvonne had her first mountain bike ride on Tahoe's Flume Trail in Incline Village in 1995, and immediately knew she had found a new passion. She began racing offroad XTERRA Triathlons and soon expanded into long distance mountain bike marathons and multi-day adventure races worldwide.  After a decade of racing in remote places, she decided it was time to directly work on recreation in Washington, to ensure trails, and trail access, were preserved and improved for future generations and for people of all abilities.

Yvonne joined Evergreen in October 2015, after 16 years of experience in both for and not-for-profit consulting firms in green building, climate policy, and energy efficiency.

While Yvonne is impartial when it comes to trails (she loves them all), she does particularly enjoy the Tiger Mountain trails, and is also a big fan of Whistler - a must-visit for her every year.   Yvonne lives in Seattle, where she is known to hit the neighborhood trails with her trail dog Ranger.
