Gravel Ride to Wallace and Olney Falls

The full suspension bike is in the shop for a front brake overhaul so I took the gravel bike to Startup, WA and climbed the DNR roads off of Kellogg Lake Road to get up to the two Olney Falls, and Upper Wallace Falls. You first go by Lower Olney Falls, then continue climbing. After enduring a spur road to Upper Wallace Falls,  you then head north to Wallace Lake and then west to begin your descent down to the Upper Olney Falls (the report image). The whole loop has many ups and downs to endure but the scenery is gorgeous and less crowded than hiking the trail with everyone else. The newer timber clearing they've done lately has opened up a few more viewpoints and this route is a great alternative until this unseasonably cold Spring gets warm enough to clear the trails above 3000 feet. GPS track and pictures here.
