Excellent riding at Banner Forest!

Getting there:

Take the ferry from the Seattle Fauntleroy Terminal to Southworth. Get off the ferry at Southworth. Don’t drive onto the ferry; instead, walk your bikes on with all your gear. This will only cost you $7.45.  It‘s only a 3.7 mile road ride to Banner Forest from the spot where the ferry drops you off.

Banner Forest is more fun than a barrel of monkeys! There is a big network of signed trails and they are all very twisty and turn sharply at times. The trails are littered with pine cones and lots of small sticks and twigs. Some parts of the trail can be dusty but most of it isn’t. There isn’t much elevation gain; we rode for almost 20 miles but only gained about 700 feet of elevation. However, you get a tough workout because these trails work you pretty hard! This trail is best suited for a 27.5 bike.
