Horse Doo Doo

Rode the full outer loop for the first time this year to get in a little XC work prior to a Duthie jump sesh. Usually this is a fall/winter only fitness ride for me, so the summer flavor was quite a change.  It is DRY out there, which for me is quite unusual and IMO really 'dumbs down' the trail vs. the usual greasy roots found in the fall/winter.  The KC Parks weedeater team must have recently been out there as the brush was freshly cut back on all trails that I rode and there were no stickers or nettles encroaching on the trail at all. However, the horse poo was all time!  Why people ride horses out there is a mystery to me, but that's neither here nor there.  Be mindful of this as you're ripping through the trails as there were fairly fresh & sizable dumps all over the place.  I guess the positive spin is: no mud, no stickers/nettles, good sight lines, and plenty of opportunities to practice your trail bunny hops!

PS: there is/was a large rotten tree crossing the trail near the intersection of Sleigh Ride and Double D. Unless you're Danny MacAskill, you'll probably have to dismount if it's not cleared.
