We have suspended all Evergreen community events, education classes, volunteer work parties and in-person meetings through April 26th, 2020. This applies statewide, across our 8 Chapters.

Spring Tune-Up

Description:

Want to brush up on your skills after taking a class last year? We will spend the first part of the day reviewing fundamentals and the rest of the day exploring the trails, practicing your skills along the way. If you’re not familiar with the BDOS trail system, this is a great chance to explore. If you’re a veteran, you’ll have fun testing your skills on features we stop to session.

Mother's Day Clinic

Description:

The perfect outdoor activity to celebrate Mother's Day! Moms and kids (ages 8+) will take separate classes at the same location, meeting for a brown-bag lunch mid-day and a short trail ride.

On Mother's Day weekend treat mom to a fun day outside on a mountain bike - a great way to build skills together on beautiful local trails! We will cover fundamental MTB skills that will have you wanting to explore more! Price listed is for one participant. Parent or guardian is required to attend with child(ren).

MTB Dirt Camp for Girls Only at BDOS

Description:

Spend 5 action-packed days of fun in the woods on your mountain bike with a group of other girls! Confidently sail over jumps, fly through dirt, and ride smoothly over roots and rocks just like the pros! Technical trickery, jumps, and drops are just some of the skills we work on in these camps.

Each day starts off with skill builders and ends with trail rides. We will also cover some bike and maintenance skills and of course, plenty of bike games! Be sure to come prepared for lots of fun! Groups will be split by age and ability. Here is an overview of what will be learned throughout the week:  Participants must be 8-13 years old because of the added fitness level and duration of the camps. 

Class Focus:

  • The Basics: gearing up, braking, shifting, and body position
  • Balance: bridges, skinnies, and bike games
  • Uphill and Downhill: safer and faster
  • Obstacles: logs, roots, and rocks
  • Drops and Jumps: small to medium size (1/2 ft - 2 ft high)
  • Bike Maintenance: fix-a-flat and more!
  • Trail maintenance: learn to preserve your favorite trail

MTB Foundations Level 1

Description:

Whether you're new to riding or have been riding for a while, learning proper technique and gaining a solid foundation in the basics will result in immediate improvements to your riding and will assist you in progressing to more advanced skills and terrain in the future. 

Foundations Level 1 is designed to help you develop strong foundational skills in body positioning and the basics of mountain biking. This class is the place to start building your confidence on 2 wheels.

Class Focus:

  • Learning body position and balance
  • Proper braking
  • Climbing and descending techniques
  • Gearing and shifting
  • Approaching obstacles/front wheel lift

MTB Foundations Level 2

Description:

This course starts with the basics of correct body positioning and applies these skills to increase your confidence, safety, and efficiency in climbing, descending, braking, and approaching obstacles on the trail.

Apply what you’ve learned in Foundations 1 and increase your confidence in more difficult terrain. This class will review the basics, improve your body position, and introduce you to cornering techniques.

  • Review of body position, balance, braking and descending

  • Advanced Obstacle Clearance
  • Trail skills including roll downs and berms

Progression Sessions

Description:

Learned the basics and ready to take your skills out on the trail? Progression Sessions are a ride series for those seeking to improve their skills and become stronger, more confident riders. Each class (4 in total) focuses on 2-3 skills in depth while out on the trails. Riders will receive feedback and guidance from our experienced instructors in a relaxed and fun setting while getting plenty of trail time.

Class Focus:

  • Review balance, body position, braking, descending
  • Climbing, slow speed cornering, shifting
  • Trail skills including roll downs and berms
  • High-speed cornering
  • Obstacle clearing

MTB Advanced Dirt Camp at Duthie Bike Park

Description:

This camp is for young, experienced riders who are looking for a bigger challenge. Using the expertise of our great coaching staff, campers will work on technical riding, jumping, bigger drops, and endurance. Coaches will work to improve riders skills so they can tackle bigger terrain faster and with more proficiency. Campers who wish to participate should be able to ride drops of 2ft or more, clear table tops of 6+ feet and be able to ride 10+ miles in a day.

Want to start pushing the limits of what you can ride? Interested in stretching your jumping ability and carving berms with ease? This class covers the basics of freeride mountain biking. If you want to build confidence in cornering, speed, and air, this class is for you!

Technical Descending Workshop

Description:

Do you want to conquer Predator? Come join the Evergreen Instructors as they break down the skills necessary to conquer Tiger Mt's most infamous trail. We will focus on rocks, roots, steep terrain and how to negotiate them safely while sessioning the lower half of Predator. This class will be an excellent follow-up to our Intro to Freeride class.

NOTE: A Full-Face MTB helmet will be required for this class

Advanced Cornering Workshop

Learn the skills to improve your cornering and increase speed through the turns. This class is geared for riders who have a solid understanding of the basics and are looking to refine their riding in this specific skill.
