Following our incredibly successful lobby day in support of the Washington Wildlife Recreation Coalition on January 28th, we returned to Olympia this month to represent mountain biking attend the Outdoor Alliance Big Tent Recreation Rally.  Along with a diverse group of outdoor recreation organizations, we rallied to showcase the importance of the now $20 Billion Outdoor recreation economy in our State.

In partnership with the Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition, we tirelessly promoted mountain biking, and joined equestrians, fishermen, duck hunters, road bikers, ORV groups, hikers, gear manufacturers and many other outdoor recreation interests in a rally to request ongoing support for outdoor recreation funding and policy initiatives.  Presentations by outdoor legend Jim Whitaker, Outdoor Research CEO Dan Nordstrom and the State's Recreation Advisor Jon Snyder (to name just a few) fueled our stoke and kept us going all day.

Rain couldn’t keep the nearly dozen Evergreen staff, board, and committee members away. We received drop-bys from legislators and legislative assistants, long-time supporters, and folks who’d never heard of us.  Even Governor Inslee himself visited our booth (and asked trailbuilder Craig Brickser what his favorite area to ride was (Tiger Mt!).

Evergreen was proud to be part of such a strong coalition of recreation advocates to help create healthy, vibrant, and active communities and economies Statewide.
