Do you love riding the trails at East Tiger Mountain? Would you like to see even more trail built? Are you interested in helping strengthen positive relations with all trail users?

If so, then you should apply to become a Volunteer Trail Ambassador at Tiger!

Evergreen and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are partnering again on the Trail Ambassador program for Tiger Mtn this summer. We're looking for fun, friendly mountain bikers to serve as volunteer Trail Ambassadors and help make this program successful.

As a Tiger Trail Ambassador, you'll ride the trails at Tiger talking to trail users and helping folks out, plus handle periodic trailhead outreach with support from Evergreen and/or DNR. You'll be provided with training, jerseys, hydration pack, first aid kits, and other equipment necessary for the outreach efforts.

DNRThe Trail Ambassador's main goals are:

Engage in positive interactions with all types of trail users on trails open to mountain bikers on Tiger.
Provide information on current authorized recreation opportunities, including trail maps, and updates on new trail projects.
Answer questions about the riding on Tiger including directions, technical difficulty, fitness levels, equipment, etc.
Supply basic mechanical assistance and first aid on trail as needed.

This is NOT an enforcement position! The goals are education, improved community awareness, and positive interactions.

In addition to helping riders on Tiger, this program is also part of an effort to build broad support - beyond the mountain bike community - for more trails on East Tiger Mtn as well as Raging River State Forest on the east side of Hwy 18.

Commitment and expectations:

The schedule will be flexible; you will coordinate with the DNR Volunteer Coordinator and the other Ambassadors during the season and find times and dates that work best.
Time commitment will be at least 5 days on the mountain during the season.
You are required to have your own bicycle and riding equipment, fitness sufficient to ride all the trails on Tiger (at your own pace), a positive attitude, and a desire to help!
You must experience rider the trails on Tiger and extensive knowledge of the trail systems to help provide information for new users.
Attend a Training and Orientation BBQ at Tiger Mtn on May 30th!
We are accepting a limited number of Trail Ambassadors this season.

To Apply:

Please send an email to Mike Sidwell by May 19th.
In your email, let us know briefly why you think you'd be a good candidate and why you are interested in helping support mountain biking on Tiger Mountain.

Please do feel free to forward this on to anyone else who might be interested. Thanks so much for supporting Evergreen and DNR.
