Sweet Winter Area

06 | Dec | '14

Hey, I know this is an old post (rode this a week ago) but given I haven't seen any RR's from the Black Diamond area lately, I thought I'd let others, who may not be in the know (like I was only a week ago), in on one of the best kept secrets for winter riding in the Seattle area. I was hiking with a friend of mine the week before who said BD had some great winter trails so I thought to give it a shot. "Wow," is all I can say - pretty cool trails and very little mud, even though this was during the big o' Pineapple Express so everything was fully thawed out after the big freeze. Hey, riding in 3/4 knickers and a jersey with no baselayer in December? Heck yeah, I'll take it!

We rode on the Summit Ridge side of the area and the trails were nice and flowy and so much fun - the lakes/ponds are a good place for a stop to catch your breath and admire the hills in the distance and all. Anyway, pretty cool place - first time for me but I'll be back for sure.
