ODT Adventure Trail - Miles 1-8. Good
We rode the ODT Adventure Trail eastbound starting at mile marker 8 to the finish on highway 112. The trail was in good condition with some minor muddy spots, a few puddles, and a little bit of ice. It is well maintained, although the barriers to prevent motorized vehiucles are a bit odd. Be careful with these when approaching at speed.
This run heading east was a lot of fun - started with a switchedback downhill until about mile 6. The mid section here, about mile 6-5 was pretty flat, quiet, and serene. If you have time I would recommend stopping at one of the few picnic tables along the trail to appreciate the peace! From about 5-3 had some gradual climbing. From about mile 3 to the finish we cruised downhill - so much fun! Highly recommended.
Trail access for mile 8 is along Eden Valley Road - it seems farther than the map suggests but just keep going. The trail crosses the road just after it becomes unpaved.
Trail access for the eastern start is on highway 112 about .3mi west of the Elwa River crossing. There is a small turnout on the west side of the road.
