410 Corridor Maintenance: Upcoming Suntop Work Parties
Trail maintenance in the 410 corridor is underway! Led by Trail Builder Paul Martin and Project Manager Brian Tustison, several trails in the Greenwater area are getting a major refresh. This is our first trail maintenance agreement in the 410 corridor, made possible by the Legacy Roads and Trails Grant.
This project focuses on maintaining 26 miles of trails, requiring over 3,000 staff hours and an impressive 1,100+ hours of volunteer effort. Key areas of focus include the Suntop Trail, Christoff Trail, Grass Mountain, and the Divide Trail — located on the north end above the ridge of Greenwater.
The goal of this project in the 410 corridor is to bring these trails up to Evergreen’s high standards, ensuring they are safe and enjoyable for all users. There is also the potential for ongoing maintenance on other trails in the area. We plan to host trail work parties (and campouts!), providing opportunities for community members to get involved and contribute to the upkeep of these beautiful trails off of SR 410.
Suntop trail work parties are on the calendar, and we're looking for volunteers to come help dig and brush! Suntop is a historical trail dating back to the 1930's. With a fire lookout At 5280' you'll see why its a Washington gem! Camping is available nearby at the scenic The Dalles and Ranger Creek so you can join us for the whole weekend!
