Crank Sisters Belated Cinco de Mayo Ride Weekend in Winthrop – Social Intermediate

Overview

It’s wildflower season and one of the prettiest times of year in Winthrop! Similar to last Fall, join us for a fun weekend of riding, eating, and hanging out when we’re not riding. There are lots of trails in the area; we'll make a plan each day based on who's there & what they want to ride (we do always ride Buck Mountain though). This will be a super-chill weekend, but please be ready for some trails with sustained climbing & limited exit points. There also may be opportunities to shuttle. Feel free to come for one day or the whole weekend.

If you bring a spouse or partner (my husband will be there); they are welcome to join us but must also RSVP and sign the waiver (even if they don't identify as female). Depending on how many spouses or partners show up, they can also ride together outside of the Crank Sisters group.

Recognizing that different people have different comfort levels with speed (both going up and down), we'll stop and regroup at trail intersections and fireroads. We'll also briefly stop to breathe, chat, and eat snacks. We will also take a lunch break on longer ride days. Crank Sisters has a no-drop policy.

Dates

Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10. Join us for any or all days. Usually Saturday is our longest ride day as Friday people are just arriving.

Accommodations

Depending on how many join us, you are welcome to stay in the main house (extra queen room, queen pull out in living room), at a friend’s home (one king, one queen, two twin beds in bottom living room), or camp on our two acre property (hook-ups available for vans or RVs). Please reach out after you RSVP on what your accommodation preference is to Leslie at 206-255-2188.

Food

Once we determine who will be joining us, I will communicate with everyone what the dinner plans are and if there are any dietary restrictions. Usually, we do a potluck such as a taco bar or casserole night. There’s a full kitchen in the main house.

Sign Our Waiver

Before you RSVP for this ride, please sign the waiver (new waiver each calendar year) at https//.www.evergreenmtb.org/my/waiver: Right click and click open in new window. This waiver needs to be signed once a year. When you click the link, it will tell you whether you have signed this year. If not, it will give you a link to sign it. Please RSVP at least 4 hours before the ride.
